22-Apr-2013 - OpenIEC61850 Development

Since many were asking: OpenIEC61850 is an active project and we will support it for a long time to come. Some of the tasks we are tackling next are:

  • Implementation of reporting for the server (already working in the client)
  • Better timeout and error reporting for the client
  • Controlling is already working well for the client. We have feedback from many companies successfully using it. Since controlling requires reporting, it is not fully support by the server yet (but soon to come).

18-Apr-2012 - OGEMA 2.0 project started

Since the beginning of this year we are working in a joint effort with Fraunhofer IWES in Kassel and Fraunhofer IIS in Erlangen in a research project called OGEMA 2.0. In this project we are combining the expertise we gained from developing the openMUC and OGEMA 1.0 framework to create a common framework for energy management. Find more information here.


18-Apr-2012 - new release of the openMUC framework is out

Version 0.9.5 of the openMUC framework has been released. The build system is now based on Gradle as are all other subprojects. Many bugs have been fixed and much refactoring has been done since the last release. The tutorial has been updated.


06-Feb-2012 - First release of openIEC61850

We have released the first version of openIEC61850, an open implementation of the IEC 61850 standard (MMS server and client). Find an overview of the features here.
